Easter celebration is popular in many countries across the globe. Easter games forms an integral part of this celebration. The games are not only played by the kids but the adults also take equal interest in it. From the traditional egg hunt to the egg replay the options are plenty.
Easter is the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion. The day is also celebrated as the victory of good over evil. During Easter, prayers and processions are observed. People use palm leaves or puss willows to mark the occasion. In the week following the Easter Sunday people decorate their home using the leaves and other traditional items. New curtains, cloths and other things are also used for decoration.
During the beautification work, people also use colorful decorated eggs. These are known as the Easter eggs. Many stories revolve around these Easter eggs. In France, it is said that the eggs are brought by the flying bells. The flying bells are the church bells that fly to the Vatican carrying with them all the pains and sorrows of the people who mourn the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. They fly to Vatican on the Thursday before the Good Friday. During this period the bells in the church of France do not chime. These bells come back in the morning of the Easter. On their way back they bring gifts and decorated eggs. They drop these in different houses on their way back, especially in the rooms of the children. Then it is from the Easter Sunday that the games surrounding the eggs begin.
It may be said that egg forms a major element of Easter tradition during this time of the year. In many places the games are organized in parks and other community venues where children and elderly may equally participate. It may also be organized on the backyard. These games do not need much preparation except for those beautifully decorated colorful eggs. One may color the hard boiled eggs or buy the same from the market. Another way to make the event more interesting is by hiding goodies inside the decorated eggs. Chocolates eggs may also be used for this purpose.

Egg hunt is one of the major games that are played during this occasion. The game may be played anywhere and by people of any age group. The only requirement is some eggs and lots of enthusiasm. It may also be organized in the bedroom of the children on Easter Sunday. Let the children know about the eggs that may be hidden and let them search the place. You can leave a clue for them for each hidden egg. It may also be organized in the backyard. Parents may hide the eggs under the bushes or plants of the garden. The difficulty level of the game varies according to the age of the participant. This game is also organized in parks and other similar places. In US Egg hunt is organized in zoos. Places like Nashville Zoo, Belle Meade Plantation and Miami Seaquarium organizes this type of events. In White House, USA, egg rolling is also organized along with other attractive Easter games. This event dates back to 1878. The event takes place in the South Lawn of White House.

Egg Toss
This is another popular game of Easter. It is sometimes played individually or in a group of two. If played individually then the participant throws the egg in the air and catches it themselves. In case the egg breaks while catching then the participant loses the game. When played in a team the players stand facing each other. One of the players tosses the egg and the partner catches it. If someone drops the egg then that team is out. Once a team loses and leaves, the other teams have to move back a step. This continues until one team is left, which is declared as the winner.

Egg Roll
In this game egg is rolled down a gentle slope. The egg that reaches the bottom of the slope without breaking is the winner egg. The game also holds religious significance. The rolling down of the egg symbolizes the moving of the stone from the tomb of Jesus Christ. The game may be played in any place where there is the availability of a slope.

Hula Hoop Race
This game requires a group of children and hula hoop. Divided the children in two equal groups and make them stand in a single line. Ensure that the children standing in a straight line with one behind the other. The first child in the line will start hoping and would hop from one hula hoop to another. On reaching the last hoop the child returns back to the line and stands at the last. In this way each child does the same thing. The first team that completes these activities is the winner.

Easter relay is another popular game that may be played during this occasion. One may also improvise on the type of relay that can be played. The level would vary depending upon the age of the participants. Spoon relay is a popular version that may be taken part by players of all age. Participants in this game carry the egg on a spoon and cover a certain distance. Then they give it to their team member and it goes on like this. The team the reaches the finishing point first wins the game. Another game one may play is the Human egg roll. In this game children roll from one end to the other. In order to play the game one needs to ensure there is enough space between the players.

This is another attractive outdoor game that the children would enjoy. The only requirement for this game is one white egg, some colorful eggs and a plain surface where the egg may be rolled. Ask the participants to roll the egg and get it near the white egg as far as possible. The one who gets its closet to the white one is the winner. The game may be of single round or multiple. The points earned in each round may be exchanged for a special gift.

In case playing outdoor is not feasible then one may make arrangement for indoor games. One such game is the Easter Bingo. One needs to prepare the Bingo cards. It is ideal to base the theme of the card on Easter. Easter words to pictures may be used to prepare the cards. Each card needs to have 3x3 girds consisting of pictures or letters or both. The caller calls out the picture or the letter during the game. The players mark of the letter or picture, if they are present on their card. The participant who gets all the objects marked on the card is the winner .
